Growing up my brother and I were raised by my single parent mother to be fiercely independent. It’s this independence that has formed my personal philosophies and made me who I am today.

Defiant for me means to not settle for the status quo. To always seek out ways to express yourself and not be dissuaded by others. As a child I was never happy with just the 8-pack of crayons. I wanted the 64 or 120-pack so I could really get creative. I see defiant as a positive attitude, not a negative one.

Defiant Upgrades was started as an outlet to give skaters the acessories for them to express their individuality.

BTW, my mother’s nickname while we were growing up was… Defiant Lady. Which she currently has stenciled on her firecracker red Jeep Wrangler.
